Old days

Only a couple of meetings this morning then an afternoon of quiet to catch up. C's had all gone out and I needed to be in for a BT engineer's appointment so just ploughed through piles of emails and my To Do list in a quietly satisfying way.
Of course having pestered me non-stop for days and texted me all day about the engineer's visit all comms stopped about 4pm and it was only when I went back into my account page that I saw the message 'we're not coming, please rearrange'. Fuming.
Nipped out to buy some stuff for dinner and rustled up pork chops with apples, cream and cider, crash hot potatoes and a big bowl of greens followed by cherry clafoutis. Yum! On my way to the shops I saw this old singer sewing machine in the charity shop that looks to be in excellent condition. I can't sew at all but it's a very lovely machine.
After dinner I helped L dye E's hair - ombre bright purple! I meant to take a photo as she sat with tin foil parcels all over her head and the bathroom floor was covered to prevent dye staining my beach pebbles but we were too busy. Later, cast on for the new cardigan I'm now making for H (same pattern as the ones I've just done for Kt and A but a different colour). Realise it's getting dark not long after 9pm....knitting a big cardigan seems right as we seem to be approaching autumn
