Flower Friday: Second wave

Look at this! The flame tree outside the window is throwing out loads of buds and some have even flowered! Looking forward to what's coming over the next few weeks.

So, the extras are the real images for the day. First off, it's my mum's birthday and if she was around, she'd be celebrating turning 81. My elder sister is really good at trying out apps and posted the two pictures (which I've combined) in our WA Sisters group. Seeing the two pictures together had such an impact on me. Like an immediate transition and it left me thinking of the years in between and how tough they were for my mum. She suffered from multiple ailments and I have to believe the doctors did the best they could to keep her going. To celebrate her, G made a meal she really enjoyed.

My other extra is the lunch that G whisked up. She likes to make the tray look as attractive and colourful as possible! It was good enough to reach out for my DSLR and fast prime lens (35mm f1.8) to capture it. :))

Friday over and I've just realised I completely forgot to do the ironing! So glad we have two day weekends in this country!
