Life in Sunny Dubai

It's the start of a new week - the last one in August! Some schools have gone back today if only to welcome the new students. G wants to go in tomorrow to see her two students.

Today though, we got ourselves ready to leave the flat so we weren't in Nara's way. We headed to the Immigration department which is a hop, skip and jump away from us. Fortunately, it was overcast, so parking outside without any shade wasn't too much of an issue.

It didn't take too long to get to the counter only to find out that there is nothing wrong on the system that needs to be "updated". The lady suggested going to another typing centre close to where we were. We walked towards it. Because of coronavirus, there are restrictions on how many people can be inside a building. There was already a queue outside, so we decided to try another time.

We headed to Dubai Mall to meet up with friend Jessica for lunch. We wanted to introduce her to the delights of Eataly - an upmarket Italian eatery who sell what they cook with. She loved it and we chatted and chatted and chatted.

Dessert was at this very unusual cafe which I spotted last week. G & I had ice cream, Jessica decided to have a mint tea. It was nearly 6 pm by the time we got home.
