An ordinary life....

By Damnonii

That's more like it!

No sitting in the garden enjoying morning coffee today.  Weather back to normal.  Even the sheep were huddled against the wall.  Thankfully if the weather forecast is to be believed it's to be sunny and warm tomorrow, which is great as we're heading to the Holy Island in the morning.

Despite the rain, Lola managed her morning run on the beach without getting too wet, well from rain anyway, she was wet from the sea!  lol

She returns from her beach walk absolutely exhausted! (see extra)  Much more tired than after her moor walks.  We can only think the moor walks are spent running about with frequent stops for sniffs and explorations, whereas she just runs hell for leather on the beach.  Anyway whatever it is she gets back, gets her housecoat on and zonks out :-))

By the time we'd had lunch the rain was absolutely bouncing so we decided it was a good excuse for another lazy day :-))  I spent it painting.

I have to say, sitting here on a rainy day in this lovely cottage with its wonderful outlook and cosy interior, painting, drinking coffee and listening to good music is absolute heaven.  To know such contentment is a privilege and I don't take a moment of it for granted.

Our friends Alan and Gail arrived at 5.30pm.  They've visited the Holy Island this morning then played golf at Goswick Golf Course.  They were a bit bedraggled but not as drenched as I expected them to be.  Think the rain was heavier here.

We enjoyed catching up with them over dinner (will see them again at Natalie and Jim's on Saturday! :-) then they had to dash off as they had to be at their B&B BY 9.30pm.  They'd spoken to the B&B owner to say it would be 10pm before they got there but he said they'd to be there by 9.30 and was being generous!  They've nicknamed him Basil (Fawlty) Hahahahaha...I hope his bark is worse than his bite!

And so ends another lovely (apart from the weather) day in Northumberland.
