A Morston Morning

I drove over to Morston Quay for 7:20 this morning to take some photos on a gloriously sunny morning. I had a walk and watched lots of boats out early as well as canoeists (see extra) and paddle boarders. When I left just after 8 there were so many cars arriving, obviously a popular morning to go for a sail. I've now moved to the next stage on creating the wild garden of removing the existing gravel, taking out the block paving edging and then digging it over - it might take a while!

Day 174 / Full Day 166 of Lockdown / Day 64 of Step 3 (for my record only)
UK deaths up 12 to 41,549 (revised basis), with new daily cases up by 1,813 and 756 patients in hospital. New daily cases in India reach a new high of 90,594 and deaths pass 70k. (I'm sure I heard on a R4 programme that at the height of the pandemic in the UK, it is thought that around 100k people a day were getting infected).

Bolton Council is introducing more measures to avoid a lockdown as they now have the highest infection rate in England (over 90% being in those aged between 18 and 49). Residents are not to mix with other households inside or out or use public transport for non-essential purposes. A leading epidemiologist warns that we are at a 'critical moment' with students returning to University and young people having the highest number of infections. An urgent NHS appeal has gone out for people who've recovered from the virus to donate plasma to be used if there's a 2nd wave. Covid tests could pick up dead virus that the immune system has dealt with. North Norfolk is one of the councils receiving enhanced support due to the Banham Poultry outbreak 40 miles away, but actually had 0 weekly cases w/e 4th Sept.
