Sports Depot

Another beautiful day and we took the opportunity to head down the A1 to visit TT’s mum while we still can.  We had to drive through the COVID-ravaged areas of the North East – but made it out the other side.  We couldn’t believe how busy the road was, especially the traffic heading north.  Were they all leaving COVID behind and heading to Scotland?  We briefly braved leaving the isolation bubble of the car to stop off and buy a picnic in Northumberland!
It was lovely to see Grandma, only the second time since lockdown.  She was also pleased to see us.  TT  largely stayed in the garden and kept a distance as he has had some face to face interaction with students this week.  He decided to cut a hedge which was getting out of control, and with BB’s help it was done and looking much better in no time.
Later in the afternoon we three had a wee walk into town. It wasn’t too busy, but I spotted a few groups of people congregating and they were clearly not adhering to Boris’ rule of six.
All too soon and we were saying our goodbyes and heading back up the road.  It was much quieter than in the morning.  We got home around 9pm and of course BB was starving!!  I then popped out for a wee walk, as my Steptember count was pretty poor – especially for such a lovely day.  Six hours in the car doesn’t get you much exercise.
This building used to house a sports shop which shut its doors a couple of years ago.  A greengrocers has moved in, but the original sign for the sports shop remains.
