Home Again, home again....

The trip odometer read 1614 miles from the moment we left home last Sunday till we parked in the driveway this afternoon. A lot of driving, but the scenery was so varied and so exquisite that I hardly noticed. And we had such a lovely time. It's nice to be away from home without chores and other things calling (like work!). My husband was more relaxed than I'd seen him in a long time. He loves to drive, thank goodness. I didn't drive even one of those miles! 

It was a fabulous getaway, very much needed after this long, tiresome year full of angst. But always great to be home! I picked up some groceries and watered some plants in the garden, even though we're expecting rain this weekend...the containers were very dry. The kitties wandered around with me, happy that their peeps were back home again. 

The anemones are still looking lovely in the late afternoon light. So soon it will be dark early, so cherish these days!
