Life's Little Moments

Outside my wheelhouse

You could probably count the number of land/lakescapes I've ever posted on one hand.  And there is a reason for that.  What I don't know about this type of photography could fill many books, and to be fair, I don't really get a big thrill out of it.  I love taking photos of living creatures - that floats my boat.

But speaking of boats...I took the kayak out today and the 28-300 lens.  and the clouds were fabulous, the colors slightly past their peak and, well...one thing led to another.  and now I'm posting a lakescape.

It was nice to get out for a paddle today and I enjoyed going to a place I've not been before.  The only challenge was that it was very shallow in spots and I grounded myself a few times.  Easy enough to push off with the paddles, but not conducive to a nice, steady paddle through the water.  The scenery was lovely, though.  And a kindly fisherman helped pull the kayak in when I "landed" which saved me getting my feet wet.  The kindness of strangers.

We had a little excitement last night/this morning.  Apparently when SIL got home from her banquet job last night (we were already in bed) she spotted a mouse high-tailing it across the floor with Charlie in pursuit.  However, when the mouse panicked and tried to run back to the kitchen, Charlie freaked out and ran into the bathroom.  And the mouse ran under the stove.  We were blissfully unaware.  However, when Hubs went downstairs this morning and found Charlie staring intently at the stove, he became suspicious.  SIL came downstarts at that point and confirmed it.  So, out came one of our humane traps and within an hour I was freeing the little stinker into the woods.  In our 19 years in this house, we've never had a mouse make its way in, so we are a bit perplexed as to how it gained access.  I've reset the trap, just in case.  I'll put a cell phone snap of the invader in the trap - looking like innocence in a tube!

Be safe and kind and loving...
