Glencoe

"Cruel is the snow that sweeps Glencoe" as the song goes... Hauntingly beautiful, it's atmospheric due to the history of this special area of Scotland.  The Massacre of Glencoe, of the MacDonalds by the treacherous Campbells.

We travelled through Glencoe on our way to Glenfinnan, our home for the next three nights.

Before that I had a text conversation with Elspeth regarding the possibility that Barbara had a UTI given her symptoms. She replied saying that the doc was asking for a sample to test for this.  I hope this is the answer.

We arrived at the hotel and the first thing you notice is the smell of woodsmoke as they have a couple of roaring fires.  One in the reception area with big chairs and a sofa around it.  Our room had big windows overlooking Loch Sheil.  It's an idyllic spot, surrounding my mountains with the Bonnie Price Charlie Monument at the head of the loch.

The food is also magnificent.  I had fried hake with veg and mashed tatties, it was superb.

Had a chat with a few of the guests.  It seems that the majority of the guests here with the exception of a few are returners!  I get it :-)
