Flying Xena

Last night Luke made home made pizzas for supper - he made the pizza bases for Gavin and himself, while I made a gluten free one for me. It did not roll out as easily as the base with gluten in it, but it still tasted very good. I also cannot have lactose and as Waitrose no longer have stock of their lactose free Mozzarella for some unknown reason,  I used a vegan mozzarella type of 'cheese', which actually worked very well and tasted good too. It's a treat for me to have a pizza as in past years when gluten free and lactose free products were not that easy to buy I could never have pizza.

Today the forecast was for rain and sunshine, so we got to the woods during a dry spell when it was very sunny - and so busy! Luke jokingly asked if it was National Walking day or something but it was just that the weather was good compared to the rain we had yesterday. There were so many families, children, walkers and dogs around - I suppose there is nothing else to do during lockdown.

In the woods there is a fallen tree over the path that Xena jumps over when we walk along that way. So today I planned to get some photos of her jumping over the log, but despite being a brighter day it was very shady and dark in that part of the woods so I had to crank up the ISO's and I took many shots, none of which were perfect but I liked this one of her flying with her ears flapping, despite it not being sharply in focus.

Luke made a delicious chilli for lunch, while I did software updates on my Mac laptop and battled with other issues on my desktop - I think I need to call in my 'computer man' to help me, so I will phone him this week.

Much of the afternoon has been spent trying to find dates that suit the entire family to go to South Africa next summer to see family. We lost our holiday there this year due to Covid so bookings and flights have been carried over to be used in 2021. Trying to find a date that suits the work schedules of Gavin, Luke and Adam, when the dogsitter is available, and when there is accommodation and flights is proving to be near impossible. We went round and round trying to work dates and have not come up with a solution. Some things still need to be checked next week before we can determine a date, but it is very frustrating!

And tonight....the return of The Crown!
