Late November Wednesday

A good walk this morning followed by lunch and the afternoon with my parents. I did pick up my dad's groceries and I was in good company....many other people picking up their groceries as well. Judging by the parking lot, many other people were shopping inside as too. Not me!

You know I'm going to tell you that my mom beat me at Backgammon once again, although I did soundly beat her at two games. So I'm getting better.

Sadly we won't be sharing Thanksgiving with them this year - it's just too risky. My sister is cooking them a turkey and they'll have a quiet dinner, just as we will...just the two of us. It's ok though, because it feels like there's finally a light at the end of the tunnel with the vaccines on the horizon.  So much to give thanks for.

On my walk this morning I stopped by my neighbor's beauty berry - Callicarpa (which by the way belongs to the Lamiaceae family (Mint) I was surprised to find out!)  I adore these berries - so purple and majestic in the very late fall. But alas, the bush is way too big for my garden. So I can enjoy it across the street!

Happy Thanksgiving to you all! May we all contemplate the many things we have to be grateful for...human resilience perhaps being at the top of the list.
