Lining

I finished all the decorated blocks on Friday.  Each block is individually lined before being fastened onto the backing material.  So today I spent time pinning all the pattern pieces onto some lining material.  This lining material, like the buttons and the press studs, was inherited from an older generation.  I didn't have to lay it all out so economically as there is plenty of material - but it goes against my good Yorkshire genes to waste anything.

And just as I was taking a photo, the sun duly shone, making the oak tree look rather splendid.  I now need to cut it all out, so I can clear the table and get my flute music and accoutrements out again, as I have a lesson tomorrow!
