BIG day today! OaSis is now over until 2021 which gave us a nice relaxed morning. Much needed after last night! I woke early wanting to achieve certain things before we went out, like create a new video. It didn't take long to realise there wasn't enough time, so I modified one I had made earlier.

It was a mad dash to head out when the time came! Our friend Shabnam gave us tickets to the Simon & Garfunkel Story for our birthdays this year. Today was the day. It was at the Dubai Opera, so it didn't take too long to get there. The special thing this afternoon is that our friends Susan & Gladson were going to be there. It is their first time ever going to a show at Dubai Opera!!

So cool for them (and us) - we all got seat upgrades and amazingly, S&G were asked to move to the same row we were asked to and we ended up sitting side by side - at the respectable social distance of 2 metres! Best thing - we were right in front of the stage!

It didn't take long for us to work out that all our initials were S and G as in...

We hung around a bit to meet the musicians who I have to say are extremely talented and humble. They did a superb job and told the story from start to finish using a lot of visuals from the '60s and '70s. I hadn't realised quite how turbulent the '60s were. It was great to get a context of how the songs were born.

We then introduced Gladson to the Sol Sky Bar and later, to the Rooftop BBQ for dinner. We always have so much to talk about, before we knew it, it was past 10 pm and time to race back to the station to catch the last water taxi back. We made it with minutes to spare! For the second night in a row, I was too tired to think of blipping.
