Koura

Koura is the Maori work for crayfish (lobster). I try to avoid food blips unless it's special (or it's winter, dark, and I'm desperate).

It's summer, long daylight hours, and the gift of a crayfish is special. To think that they apologised for it's size! It's plenty big enough for me, I'll have a second meal from it tomorrow.

It took me an age to prepare my salad and to grill the already cooked cray on the bbq. I'm so excited by my cookbook project as part of my back to work programme, I tried to do too much. At the time it seemed ok but a bit later my brain struggled to do anything.

Lesson learned. And the crayfish salad was delicious.

Today's gratitude: For excellent cognitive functioning. I'm so grateful.
