Not going out ...

It’s been snowing all morning and is still doing so as I type.

More snow than we’ve had in this area for many years. We used to get regular heavy snow being in the edge of the Pennines but it’s become less frequent in recent years. We even made the list on the lunchtime news weather listing Bingley as having 9 cm below several places predominantly in Scotland.

My son had to go to Manchester for work. Always avoid the M62 is the mantra so he went over to Colne to get onto the M65 ( something I always did when attending AQA exam meetings),  he said there was nothing but rain beyond Colne. Hope he gets back OK. Social media seemed to suggest that there was chaos on roads around the village. the snow.

Had a lunchtime Facetime with Eda, the snow in the garden through the window. She could see her swing and wanted to come and build snowman, if only it was that easy!

The birds were busy at the feeders this morning, even the blackbirds having a go who normally stick to ground feeding. Lots of Siskins, predominantly at the front garden feeder, Chaffinches and Goldfinches. Luckily the feeders are all full so we don’t need to deal with them for now so we are definitely not going out!
