Marjorie's ramblings

We have snow!

We awoke to a white landscape and sunny, blue skies. Over the course of the morning, snow came in flurries and in torrents intermittently. In one bright, dry period I kitted up, ready to go out for a walk. I went into the garden, fed the birds and returned like a snowman.

After lunch I tried again. I wanted to try the car in snow ready to take Mum to Newcastle for a hospital appointment tomorrow. I drove up to Heavenfield, got out of the car and found I did not have my walking poles nor did I have a card in the camera.

This was the view and I had to capture it, to the iPhone did its best. Within 2 minutes this was almost a white out. I drove home and stayed there. We've had a lot of snow but it appeared to be melting later on.

At 6pm, Ken Loach was being interviewed for a Big Tent event for The Oxford Research Centre in the Humanties. Two of his films were discussed. Apparently there had been calls for this event to be cancelled, presumable because of his support for Palestinians. It's worth watching, although the clip of the I Daniel Blake  film was taken down by YouTube for copyright reasons in the middle!

Then it was time for the Tynedale Photo Group. We had a mono evening and I presented a panel, along with 7 others. It was a terrific evening. My Covid-19 quiz panel had them scratching their heads. I thought it was too easy!

PS Tonight's interview with Ken Loach as reported in the Jewish News
