After the big freeze

The bird feeders in our gardened stayed quiet for much of the time during the last week's freezing weather. Or at least, they were mostly deserted whenever we happened to glance out of the window. So we wondered how many of the usual tiny visitors had not survived the extreme cold.

So it was good to see that this morning brought crowds of goldfinches, bluetits and a pair of robins who look like they're nesting not far away.
