Easter Road

A lovely warm early spring day in Edinburgh. After my usual Saturday class, and a trip to the supermarket, we headed out for a good walk, partly motivated by Mr A’s wish to try out a new camera that arrived by post this morning. Don’t ask me what it is, but unusually for him it’s made by Ricoh. He definitely subscribes to the view that you cannot have too many cameras. I rather subscribe to that view for bags, not cameras.

On our walk, we headed up onto Calton Hill, and then back down Easter Road. To be honest, having done a class in the morning, my legs and feet were complaining by the time we got home. We picked up some pasteis de nata in the Portuguese cafe (Amiga) on Leith Walk, and headed home for indulgent hot chocolates and a rest in the afternoon. We’ve also both been playing with Procreate (which I personally find a very odd name for an App), and the results of my first efforts are in the extra (don’t just me too harshly), along with a very amusing sign we saw on Leith Walk which made both of us laugh. But the prize for my blip had to go to this view of the top of Easter Road in the sunshine because of - guess what - the EU flag in the window. Yay!

Stuffed aubergines for dinner - a slight variant of a Rick Stein recipe on BBC Good Food, with extra cabbage leaves for that sarma effect. I’m now going to read some of my (paper) book (about The Black Sea) in order to wean myself off the screen for the evening. I’m really loving my new iPad, but I shouldn’t spend too much screen time especially at the weekend.
