Waterfalls

Matilda pressed herself into me for the first time in over a week and with a contented smile, told me that I smelled like home.

In an unconnected incident, something got in my eye.

M’boy dashed over and barrelled into me for a hug at collection too, he didn’t let go either despite some of his pals looking on. I’m keen to enjoy that for as long as possible, I know it’s only a matter of time before I become an embarrassment to them…

Then just before bedtime and having brushed her <remaining> teeth, Matilda was back in front of me and grinning with a maniac pride at the gap in her gnashers. I thanked my lucky stars that I actually have some money to put under her pillow tonight.

There are those who say that when playing the part of the tooth fairy, you don’t actually need to dress up, but to my mind they lack commitment to the role.

Safe to say: I’ve missed the wee ones and it’s nice to have them back.

In other news, the following sentence was genuinely spoken (not by me) without a hint of irony in a meeting I was chairing earlier: “We’ll do a deep dive into the Q1 waterfall.”

In a breath-taking display of self-restraint, I stopped myself from laughing out loud and almost bit through my tongue to prevent a less than kind response. I took the high road and now I really feel like I’m growing as a person and fast becoming the ultimate consummate insurance professional.

Now, if you’ll excuse me I need to cascade a bungee jump over the H2 slurry pit.
