Newborn Cicada Face

This is a close-up of a cicada that has just shed its exoskeleton, but its wings have yet to unfurl.  Such fascinating creatures.  It's better in Large.  Who knew they have eyelashes!

Thanks so much for all the love for yesterday's cicada images.  I was really delighted to see that they made it to Page One.  

I know this doesn't match the theme for Tiny Tuesday this week, more protein than vegetable, but I am hoping the theme is optional because I can't resist this shot.
