Gently down the stream

Yellow Flag/Yellow Iris

Iris pseudacorus

Yes, the flags are out - it's a good moment, especially when you see them on a damp, dark, blowy day.

I took the shot on the way home from the reserve this morning.  They're flowering along the Nuns Stream, which is overhung with trees and cow parsley.  Despite those conditions, I haven't quite worked out why the background is so very black, or the petals so extraordinarily bright.  Apart from a quick crop, this was SOOC.

Not much else.  I was going to do some boring jobs and weed my wardrobe, but so far I've failed.  Never mind, there's always tomorrow.

Have a happy Thursday evening/Friday morning  xx
