Just doing my bit?

Apparently, pre BREXIT, our fishermen were given the impression there'd be little/no difference in exporting their catches.
AND - NOW:-
"The EU has told British fishermen they are indefinitely banned from selling live mussels, oysters, clams, cockles and scallops to its member states.
As the UK is now a separate country, it is not allowed to transport the animals to the EU unless they have already been treated in purification plants.
But the industry says it does not have enough tanks ready and the process can slow exports, making them less viable."

OOPS?
"UK fishermen continue to benefit from easy access to the EU market, with 85% of all UK shellfish exports worth £360 million heading for European shores in 2015, Environment Secretary Elizabeth Truss said today."
"UK shellfish catches were valued at £393m in 2019."

Ergo I'm doing my little bit for the Fishermen.  Last time was almost exactly two years. ago - must try harder?

It also raises the point - IF "we" are indefinitely banned - what is the point of making any more purification tanks?
It raises the further point, of course:-
If they needed that much of our stuff will that now represent a shellfish famine in parts foreign?
