Will The Kids Never Leave!

The poor blue tit parents are continually visiting the nest box to feed the chicks and clean up after them. I read that each chick can eat 100 caterpillars a day, so that's up to 900 a day for the brood in the box. I put out the last of the live meal worms this morning, hopefully the pet shop will have some new supplies tomorrow after the Bank Holiday. I'm sure they'll fledge tomorrow as the smaller ones seem to have caught up in the last couple of days. Today they've discovered they can sit in the entrance and also in the window at the side as one is doing in the Extra. A glorious day with full, intense sunshine - too hot to sit in the garden most of the day. Sad to hear that Naomi Osaka has withdrawn from Roland-Garros.

Day 441 / Day 15 of Step 3 of Roadmap Easing (for my record only)
Late afternoon anyone over 18 could get a jab at England's biggest vaccination centre at Twickenham today, a one day only offer which hundreds of young adults queued to take up. Following the pandemic, the OECD has said that the UK economy is expected to suffer the most long-term economic damage of any of the 7 major industrialised nations. The WHO will use Greek letters for naming variants, so the Kent variant is Alpha, South African variant is Beta, Brazil is Gamma and the Indian one is Delta - and about time too!
