Gently down the stream

Mumma of the day

Firstly I have to say a heartfelt thank you for all your kind and lovely comments yesterday.  Yes, I'm doing much better today and have taken it pretty easy.

So my day began with an early walk round the reserve.  When I got there it was still foggy and very very wet (see Extra), but the sun broke though within a minute or two.  I found this girl about half way round.  She was at a bit of a distance and in a place that's inaccessible, but I watched her for a while.  She had a young kid with her but I could only see the occasional mini ear poking though the reeds.

As for the reserve itself, there are still rather few flowers there as yet and I only saw one damselfly, both of which were slight disappointments, but I did see the tail of the female sparrowhawk stuck out of the side of the nest so she's obviously still sitting on eggs.  I have no idea how long it will be before they hatch, but perhaps not much longer.  How exciting!

The rest of the day has consisted of some gentle gardening, reading and snoozing.  Luxury!

And shortly I will add in here the results of WildflowerWeek21_10.  Thanks to everyone who joined in  xx
