Marjorie's ramblings

Old friends

In 1970 we five all began our course at Newcastle Medical School. Here we are now, retired and with various life experiences along the way.

We should have been 6 today, but Diana had a terrible (non-Covid) cough and did not travel from Scunthorpe. The others came from Newcastle, Middlesbrough, Hartlepool (but lives in Oxfordshire) and Wakefield.

I took my first train since the pandemic began. It was a good way to travel. We met at the station and then walked to Blackfriars restaurant via Grainger Town.

The food was good, but the main thing was the conversation as we caught up with each others' lives.

We sat outside to eat -much nicer than the rather stuffy interior of the restaurant. The rain did not come until I was back at home. I'm very pleased to see it.
