Traeth y Mwnt

The welsh language seems so devoid of vowels, I suspect it would be almost impossible for an aging English person like me to learn. I'm even struggling with the crochet. Anyway, the midday rain did not materialise (hooray) so after a morning in Cardigan, where we had an excellent coffee and scone/cream/jam followed by a quick tesco shop, we drove to the next place on the map that looked like it might have a small beach. We knew nice weather time wasn't on our side, and wanted to make the most of it. So just along the coast, we followed tiny roads to this beautiful secluded beach. A large car park and £4 to park all day. So we had our picnic, then loaded ourselves up with beach stuff and wandered down to the beach. When we got to the cliff edge, Jon spotted a dolphin in the very distance. We watched for a while then walked down to the beach.

Really pleased with the little beach chairs I bought in Lidl just before we came away! Jon had his binoculars and we were able to watch the dolphins perform for us, out in the bay. A couple of people had paddled out in kayaks, and were very close. I am sure the dolphins were used to it.

It was chilly when the clouds came, so I didn't swim, but we read books and relaxed, and the beach was not full by any means. No doubt that will change when the schools break up. Feel fortunate to have found it today. We are well aware the weather changes everywhere tonight, and we have a week of rain ahead of us.

That should give me time to master the crochet....and possible even dabble in a bit of painting!
