Eda and Hockney

We had a great morning but as it was raining a bit when we set off we had the contingency of going indoors if the weather let us down.

We went to Lister Park and Cartwright Hall. Unbelievably we haven’t seen the Hockney 80th birthday exhibition which is now 4 years old. Eda loved this as the diver’s splash into the pool looked like a mermaid.

She was wearing her helmet as she had scooted her way through the park. It was unexpectedly fine when we got there and after we came out of the exhibition it was sunny and hot. The gardens are lovely, especially the ravine with the stream  and we had a walk through the Mughal Gardens too before going to the play area. Busy of course but we did comment how good the facilities were and apparently the newly extended play park only reopened three weeks ago. ( Eda has a little bag in her hand as the museum gives out activity bags for families and under fives, all from a free entry museum)

As we drove home we could see the clouds ahead and we soon drove into the rain which lasted most of the afternoon. Alex called in after getting some new tyres for his car and Eda had him setting up the farm again this time with vehicles.  So she had fun whilst Jude had a nap. She was soon out on the swing again too, rain doesn’t stop play!
