Derelict Sunday

This pipe (about a metre long) protrudes from the ground on the derelict site of a local pub which was demolished 2-3 years ago. I gather there are plans to build on the site at some stage so as I've had in mind for a while to blip the pipe I thought I'd better do so before too long. As it's yellow it must have been the gas supply pipe but thankfully the gas must have been cut off as there's nothing emanating from it!

Today seemed a good chance to use this blip subject as I didn't have time to go too far from home: I wanted to get my blip before attending a live webinar on wildlife photography mid-morning. I've signed up to a 5-week course led by Tesni Ward who happens also be an Olympus ambassador, so besides learning some general tips & tricks there'll no doubt be some specific Olympus ones. This morning we learned about the best way to prepare to take wildlife photos (spending time researching the creatures: getting to know their habits, locations, diet, etc and choosing the right kit). So far any wildlife shots of mine have been purely opportunistic (except a couple of years ago when I spent a day in a kingfisher hide): I don't know if I've the patience (or the time) to really take this genre forward properly but maybe the fact that Tesni has set us some homework may help!

Thanks as always to Marlieske for hosting DS.
