A Day In The Life

WADADM

We started our day with a breakfast picnic at the river. For a Saturday morning it was unusually quiet, not many boaters, walkers or gulls in sight. Was it the chill in the air? I never even turned my camera on • With full stomachs we headed directly home to take advantage of overcast skies and the cooler temperatures to work in the garden. We picked tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers; pulled up the zucchini and yellow squash plants, thanking them for their service; watered potatoes; and made plans to harvest two pumpkin plants tomorrow! • I found this sweet female hummer resting in the lilac tree this afternoon • In case you’re wondering, WADADM is the acronym for “What a difference a day makes”! Somehow we went from summer to fall, although I doubt we’ve heard the last from summer :)
