Mrs Pugh

In the late eighties, when I was regularly guarding trains here, we often picked up Mrs Pugh who lived in one of these cottages at Rhydyronen and took her into Tywyn to do her shopping.  I think she must have been the last of the local housewives who used the railway in this way.   I remember her boarding my train one day, regaling me with her excitement at watching snooker on TV, predicting great things for a young man called Stephen Hendry!

Tonight Ruth and I took Meg out to the field opposite the cottages where she can run free and chase ball, stick and frisbee.   It's getting dark earlier and earlier now but this shot was taken after we had visited our friends who own the field.   Pitch black with a starry sky overhead by then.
