Asters

A grey and damp morning, although the dampness didn’t last.   I had a rather unproductive day at work, though did manage a really good catch up with colleagues.  It felt like a while as we have all been off at different times over the holiday period, so never all around at the same time.  It was nice to have some non-work chat and some work chat.
In a meeting this afternoon with some external colleagues we were all bemoaning the lack of non-work chat nowadays.  There is no more wandering up to someone’s desk to ask a question and also having a wee chat.  No chat on the edges of meetings.  It’s the social interactions that help to smooth the way for the work chat.
BB had rugby training this evening and came home very enthused again – he is loving being back.   TT produced a  casserole for tea, which was very dominated by broad beans.  No courgettes though!
Later I had a long chat with my mum and dad, and another walk in the dark.
Covid cases continue to rise.  My friend’s daughter tested positive at the weekend, and my friend and her dad both tested positive today.  Thankfully we continue to have negative tests in this household.
These asters are in a neighbour’s garden.  They are a lovely display and remind me of flowers that a child might draw.
