The accidental finding

We started the day with a trip to the tip (NO!!!!!) but this time it was our friend's clutter that was being offloaded. We only had a couple of bags of garden waste. The tip was quiet, for a change, so we were in an and out in no time.

I had a coffee, got changed and set off to buy flour and pick up the twins in the other valley, the one I'd already visited by car, twice, that morning. Walked the boys home (more sturm und drang), got the lunch and TV on, then got the boys peeled away from the TV and making red playdough shapes, using basic ingredients and new cutters I'd found at a charity shop. I actually managed to keep both of them playing, even though one kept asking for the television back on. They have very different play needs, and Mum works from home upstairs, so I also have to try to stop them escaping...

Friend J spotted me walking along her road and phoned to suggest meeting. We went for a coffee in town, then to Waitrose. I'd already been to Home Bargains AND the Co-op, but she wanted wine-buying advice. Kind of hilarious, because I stopped buying or drinking alcohol a year ago tomorrow. I don't even bother with the fake drinks, except on holiday. Which is just as well, because the M&S 0% has run out and now apparently there's a nationwide shortage of tonic water. You couldn't make it up!

I was glad of the walk home, despite my heavy bags, because I was able to snap these berries near the canal side. I'm afraid the wind sprung up just as I got my phone camera out, and I don't know the name of the berries either. Maybe someone else does?

Back home (11,500 steps thus far) I set up a new community WhatsApp group because the previous one had been hacked by a porn merchant. So far only 10 people have joined. Very selective group! Then I cooked supper (pasta with a kind of satay sauce, and broccoli followed by an orangey meringue cookie).
