A day in the life

Concert night

A fabulous evening of good performance. Five completely different acts got their 20+ minutes spot on the stage in the light of this (very) small theatre in the dark woods of Småland on the mainland, an hours drive from where I live. This is such and important cultural event, and I'm honoured to be invited.

Two professional Swedish actors, also married to each other, performed poems, excerpts from plays and some songs, then a writer, specialising in research on the history of the extreme right wing political parties in Sweden, how they have developed since the thirties until today. Before the intermission we heavily applauded a Greek bouzouki player doing a medley of instrumental music and some songs. After the break it was my turn to play some tunes with the orchestra and then some solo pieces and songs. Lastly  we listened to a youngish writer reading from her latest book, concerning pregnancy in general and her thoughts around her own pregnancy. She also involved the audience in singing a simple tune while reading the ending of her book, very heart touching.
A long but oh so important evening, leaving an audience deeply moved.
