Meet Spike

We came home for a few hours today (after using up every towel in the RV to sop up a leak caused by our own stupidity).  When we got home, it had just stopped raining and the woods were abuzz with robins and cedar waxwings - probably over 500.  I was trying desperately to get a shot when I happened to look down to the lower part of our yard and spotted this first year buck.  Done!  You can see he just has two single little spikes.  If he avoids becoming venison this year, he'll have a more majestic rack next fall.  Here's hoping.

Other than the water mishap, we've had a good time in the RV.  We are headed back shortly as hubs wants to trouble shoot a few issues while it's hooked up to water and sewer.  I will probably take advantage of that time to have a nap as I'm definitely droopy today.  

And it is now T minus one for Jax!  His foster mom plans to be here with him around 10 tomorrow morning so we will pack up and head home early.  And life will never be quite the same again...

I'm thinking chocolate with nuts today...
