Life's Little Moments

Welcome home, Jax!

Not one of my finer photographs but I’ve got years to get this right. For today, I just wanted a simple iPhone shot to remember the day.

We packed up the RV early and headed home, arriving in plenty of time to greet Jax and his foster mom, Julia. We sorted out all the paperwork and then came the hard part which was Julia saying goodbye to Jax. Tears all around.

Milestones today - Jax met both cats and the feather duster. All three scared him and he let us know by growling in his most ferocious way. Neither the cats nor the feather duster were particularly impressed. However when he barked the cats were smoke. That said, there have been a couple of fast nose sniffs and one butt sniff. Jax has never seen a cat before so he really doesn’t know what to make of them. He doesn’t seem to have a prey instinct so he hasn’t tried to chase - thank goodness.

He’s a timid pup, but very affectionate. Just in the six hours he’s been here we can see him starting to relax and be a little less jumpy. He’s starting to explore his new home and has already laid claim to one of the plush beds. Julia also brought a bed he’s been sleeping on and a baby blanket which is where he goes when he is feeling insecure.

Lots of trips outside so no accidents (yet).

Tomorrow I will order a dna kit so we can find out what he’s got in him, besides Catahoula Dog and Flying Nun.

Stay tuned...
