Aftermath

I found a spent rocket on the pavement on my way up to church this morning, it tells it’s own story.

We live at the top of a cul de sac and our front aspect is down everyone else’s back garden.
On Friday night our immediate neighbours had a firework display in their back garden, their daughter isn’t two months old yet, and we could see them all from our living room. Likewise the house below that had a party with fireworks last night despite the atrocious weather. Again we had a front row seat.
In addition my daughter’s brother in law called to collect something we had brought back from Bath for them on Friday night and brought us some Yorkshire Parkin, so quite unexpectedly we had a good firework weekend.
My perception was there were fewer big bangs but those with scared animals may have thought differently.

In Bath Eda joined the neighbours for sparklers and they watched the fireworks going off across the city. Grace said Eda wasn’t that sure about them so it was probably good they were at a good distance.

A very blowy day, thankfully dry and not too cold but I doubt we’ll be getting another free show tonight.
