Mollie gets her First Class Honours!

Up at 6, and after a reasonably smooth 200 mile journey, we arrived at our overnight hotel at a bit after 12. Thankfully our room was ready and they allowed us to check in early. So we were able to get dressed up for the day, and then got an Uber to take us to Salford University.

After worrying that we wouldn't get there on time (I had a dream that we couldn't leave home until 9 because Mollie had a driving lesson....so odd!) we were there early. Mollie met up with friends Kiara and Tasha to register, and then proceeded to collect their gowns, and get photos taken. It was nice that we also had the opportunity to have our photo taken with Mollie, and are hoping we like them when they come out.

Then it was time for the graduation. It was especially nice that Mollie and her 2 best friends Kiara and Tasha were positioned next to each other, in surname order, and consequently awarded their degrees one after another. Mollie walked confidently on to the stage when her name was read out, stopping to nod to the Pro Vice Chancellor (see my extras for a pic) and smiling beautifully. We are so proud of her. After the disruption caused by covid to her final year, she should be so proud to have achieved a First Class Honours degree in Television and Radio Production.

We then joined Kiara's family at their hotel for drinks, which was lovely. It was nice to at last meet Kiara's parents Aileen and Kevin, who live quite close to Manchester. Mollie spent some happy time with them at their lovely home during the time the girls were at uni, and we had plenty to chat about today. We would really like to revisit this part of the country - perhaps when we replace the caravan we can add it to next year's adventures.

We went our separate ways to find somewhere to eat, ending at a very nice, and very popular Indian restaurant called Akbars. Feeling totally stuffed it was another Uber home for 10, where we are now crashing out.

A happy proud day for this mum. Love you Mollie xx
