Aberlady Bay

A nice day, so I eventually dragged myself out for a run.  It was sunny, still and not cold, but it was very muddy in places.     Anyway it was good to get out for five miles on a lovely winter morning.  Once home I discovered that TT had taken over my jigsaw, so I decided to get ahead and cook tea.

After lunch we three headed out for a walk.  We parked up in Gullane and walked back to Aberlady Bay.  It was just glorious, although there was a thick blanket of fog across the Forth and we couldn’t see Fife, apart from the tops of the Lomond Hills poking through the clouds.  The tide was well out and we walked right across the sand to the mini submarines – which we haven ‘t walked to for years.  We then headed back to Gullane along the beach.  The mist was starting to settle in the bay and looked very earie.  As we drove home there were patches of mist everywhere – which was all very atmospheric.

It was then home for a few drinks, tea, more jigsaw and TT continued watching his Icelandic programme. A lovely Christmas holiday day.

Here are the boys striding out.  The extra is one of the minisubmarines.
