New Years' Eve Reflections

Today has been pretty laid back so far - I want to conserve my energy for work later. I had a walk around the Arboretum and took some photos - the weather seems to have brightened up today, and it is really quite warm -  15°C! I liked the reflections in the pond - New Year is a time for reflecting, after all!

It has been an improvement on last year in many ways. I'm working again with people I like, and so long as I can manage to keep to part time hours it will suit me. We had some time away in Newcastle and some good days out over the course of the year too.

For next year I'd like us to fix the main problems in the house and have some more time away. It will be a special year for me with a milestone birthday. One kind-of sad thing for me is that Grace plans to move to Leeds to be with Sophia, but even that is really a good thing. She's found a lovely person with whom she is happy and is spreading her wings.

I have included a couple of extras since I have some in hand and they should renew tomorrow.. There's a lovely Romanian rescue dog. I've seen her before - her young owners are doing a super job, training and socialising her. She did chase a squirrel though - I heard her Dad say that he doubted they'd be able to fix that as it's instinct. She did not catch the squirrel!

The second extra shows my next years' tree. I'm not sure what it is - maybe someone who knows about these things can identify it from its distinctive reddish coloured bark.

I'd like to express my gratitude to all who follow my Blip, read, give comments, stars and occasional hearts. Thank you all very much, it is greatly appreciated. I wish you all a 2022 that exceeds your best dreams for the year.
