Matinee coat

I'm continuing to do knitting for refugees. Today I set myself the task of completing this matinee coat and I nearly did. (The sharp eyed amongst you will see that the buttons are not yet sewn on.)

I was keen to finish because I knew I was close to running out of wool. The tiny ball in the image is all that was left.

Babies' clothes that go overseas have to be in dark, strong colours because white is the colour of mourning. Also many will not be able to be washed often.

Mum has had/is having a big nosebleed as I type. It seems to be easing off now, but it's been a bad one.

It's been windy and wild today ending up with a flurry of wet snow this evening.
