An ordinary life....

To describe today as anything other than shitty would be to do it an injustice.

When I got out of bed I was immediately almost felled by a sharp stabbing pain shooting from the top of my left thigh, down over my knee, round the side of my leg and into my foot.  With each step it got worse.  I had planned to get showered but realised I would just have to go the loo and make my way back to bed to try and work out what the hell was going on.  At this point the only explanation I had was I must have been break dancing in my sleep!  How else could this level of pain be explained from just lying asleep?

It took me eighteen minutes to walk back from the loo to the bed (a short distance.  We have an ensuite) and another 10 minutes to get back, sitting up in bed, every move excruciating.

I spent the next few hours sitting on the bed feeling the most defeated I've felt in a long time.  Totally fed up with months of fluctuating hip pain.  Poor David did his best to cheer me up with a cuppa and sympathetic ear, and after a second dose of strong painkillers I felt a little bit better and by mid afternoon I was able to get showered.  But just when I thought things couldn't get any worse...there was a visit from Auntie Flo (women will know what I am talking about). Just what I didn't need and I wouldn't normally be so open, but I want to have my blip as a record to remind me of the sequence of events.

Despite that I finally managed to get comfortable and decided there was no point in going downstairs at that late stage of the day, so David cooked dinner and we both ate upstairs.  He really is a superstar.

Took another two painkillers as soon as I was able to, which coincided with bedtime, so it was lights out soon after.

The upside is I had a bit of a eureka moment about what might be causing my hip pain and when I checked dates of when it's been worse, it coincides with the gynae issues I've been having so a phone call to the gynae consultant will be made first thing tomorrow morning.
