A view from Jeanneb

Man made.

Chris headed up to do a job at church as I was having my breakfast.  When I finished I walked up to join him and suggest we did a circuit of the village and Goit Stock as, despite a coolish strong breeze, it was a lovely morning.

We walked past my son’s house to take a look at his wall top garden. There is one clump of snowdrops but room for more so we will take him some of mum’s. Daffodils that we planted when he moved in are coming up and lots of last years marigolds want cutting back. A couple of jobs for another day.

We then walked down Leech Lane to Goit stock.  The usually unsightly pylons struck me as suitable for the wide Wednesday theme of man made. I chose this one looking into the sun as I liked the gleam off the tracks of the lane which of course is man made too.

Looked out for dippers on Harden Beck but it was very full and fast flowing with not many exposed rocks. ( Saw a couple down stream on our walk last Friday)

Several clumps of snowdrops just coming through on the beckside and a few more in amongst the trees. Nice to think of all the wild spring flowers to come.

Walked back up to the village as Chris had left his car there. Decided to treat ourselves to a coffee at Yorkshire Treats for the first time this year. Sunny enough to sit outside with a nice view across the village green space to the new housing. An interesting view as there are 19th century village houses , Crowther Fold which is possible 17th century and the new houses built a couple of years ago before the lockdown. Just wish the builders would do their final clearing up - extra.

Soon meeting friends for an early door drink back in the village.
