Need for Speed

I took the hounds to Bagnalls beach up at Port Stephens today so Hamish could have a lovely swim and get some hydrotherapy.  As I was approaching Williamtown airport I nearly jumped out of my seat as one of the Lightning IIs did a vertical climb right in front of me.

We pulled over along with the throngs (see first extra) and were given a free airshow for 20 minutes.   Captain Biggles (wave to him in the second extra) put on a fabulous demonstration of what the Lightning IIs can do in stall climbs, cobras, low passes, loops, etc. better than Top Gun for sure.  I videoed a bit with my phone but it doesn't catch the roar of those Pratt & Witney engines when it is flying 30 ms overhead at sub sonic speeds.

The last extra is a Buzz view of Shoal Bay, Port Stephens.   Bagnalls beach where we go is the dog beach and a bit further west from here.

I have two very tired hounds - happy days.
