In Bohemia

This dessert was described as "Bohemian" -- not sure why, but it was delicious. Roasted mango and strawberries, whipped cream, vanilla ice cream, "carbonised sugar" (the black sprinkles). Will definitely try this when I have an oven -- the only thing I'd change is to replace most of the cream with meringues, to make a kind of exotic Eton mess. Also, I want this plate :)

It was such a glorious day that after Spanish lesson and shopping, we had lunch at La Bahía on the beach in Salobreña. It's a very large restaurant with probably over 100 covers in several interior spaces and on the beach, and as you would expect given the weather, it was busy. But unlike most restaurants around here, it runs like a well-oiled machine. The stern lady who allocates tables is still stern, and the staff coordinate perfectly, passing tasks between them so that your orders are delivered promptly and correctly to the table. A pleasure after some recent experiences. Also the food is excellent, and it's cheaper than La Barraca (but then most places are).

We cut our walk on the beach short as it had got a bit windy by the time we finished lunch. I expect we'll be back though. Lovely drive back admiring the brilliantly blue sea and the views of the mountains. We are feeling very fortunate.
