Life's Little Moments

Idyllic

Met my birder friends for a walk at this wonderful old farm (now a Heritage Sight) this morning. The local syrup makers were getting ready for a big sale of local maple syrup so we watched them for a bit before taking one of the many hilly trails for several miles. We were kept company by constant birdsong from field sparrows, cowbirds, cardinals, bluebirds, ravens and some recently arrived Phoebes. I do so love the sounds of spring!

Back home in time for lunch and then took Jax for a walk where two of our neighbors joined us. Jax was remarkably good, probably due in no small part to a pocket full of freeze dried liver.

The first day of Intermediate Obedience last night went fairly well in that Jax was at least in a 3-way tie for worst behaved. And one of his fellow bad dogs peed every time he got over excited so I took some satisfaction in that (notwithstanding I got peed on at one point). Last night’s main focus point were sitting at heel (which Jax already knows) and “settle” which is a Down with rear legs to the side. We are working on that one!

He and I both had a nap after our walk today and then Hubs took him out for some fetch with a ball. After which I took him out with the flirt pole and ran him ragged.

Rain in the forecast tomorrow but hopefully we will get a break to get out.

Dark with bits of burnt toffee today.

Cool
