Wild Wednesday ...

... hugging toads.

Okay ... you and I both know that these toads are simply hugging!  But my neighbor to which they belong uses this term because of her 10 year old grandies!  Easier than explaining the birds and the bees ... or in this case the toad mating dance ... to them I guess!  They have been serenading us for a couple of weeks now but this morning was the first time I had been over to see them.  She only has a small pond but there are at least six toads in it.  Sadly I found one (quite dead and eviscerated) on our deck this morning. Our security cameras recorded a raccoon there last night so it's very possible he/she was the culprit.

Now on to much more pleasant things ...

Today was even nicer than yesterday so we decided to have a picnic supper up at Jacobsburg State Park.   I made up some chicken salad which we packed up as well as some chips and off we went after R was done with work.  The high today was 80° F. and it was nice being out in shorts and a t-shirt ... without being cold!  We had gotten up there too early to eat right away so we took a walk before enjoying our picnic.

It was a lovely day!

Thanks to Cailleach for keeping Wednesday's wild!
