Golden

Feeling uplifted from attending the Cathedral Eucharist service at Southwell Minster this morning; no service at our village church today.*

* Extra - The woman in tartan and DM style boots was also notable, pictured with a free book as offered by the bishop to anyone who wished to borrow and pass on. No surprise she was an art teacher.

A golden egg within some lillies was in the extra (removed)

Church Review
The small army of cannons, deacons, vergers and wardens and the Bishop of Southwell and Nottingham, could not have been warmer, welcoming and uplifting. There was a hint of gospel in the requests to repeat alleluia louder and the mannerisms of one canon in particular. Music exceptional with a chamber orchestra, choir, organ and peeling, with hymns with great tunes and words to match and pieces from Bach and Handel.

A real sense of tradition with robes of all colours and designs, a mace, the Bishop with mitre and crook, well rehearsed movements and candle lighting. Free tea, coffee and wine with the pastors including the Bishop afterwards.
