Road Trip: day 3

A long day driving today.  We set off from the hotel fairly early, after taking the shot of St Mary's Island and lighthouse in my extra.  We headed off to my favourite National Trust house, Cragside, for a look round.  We've been before, but it is always worth a look.  We then started the long drive; firstly up to Edinburgh where even though we only skirted the city, the traffic was awful.  We aimed for South Queensferry to get this great view of the Forth Bridge; the only time I have seen it before was from an aeroplane around 20,000 feet in the air.  The final part of the journey was another 140 miles through the Cairngorms to Inverness where we are staying tonight.  Quite rushed; we had booked a table at a favourite restaurant here for 7pm but didn't arrive at the hotel until 6.30pm, so had a rather quick turnaround.  An excellent meal as always; now back at the hotel ready for an early start in the morning for the next stage of the road trip.
