New bloom in the garden!

A gorgeous start to the Bank Holiday weekend.

Chris needed compost so we went to Woodbank first thing and had a coffee in the Potting Shed. Straight into the garden when we got back. Mainly weeding ( buttercup) in the front garden where I was accompanied by a female black bird.
Later in the back we had the Robin. I think there must be a nest as it is definitely alarm calling when the cat is around, he stayed around all through our bacon sandwich lunch sitting outside with our son who called down to share with us.

I wanted to show this new clematis ‘Broughton Bride’ fur my blip today. It hasn’t grown very high yet but the big blooms are wonderful. ( You may remember we had to pull out the established plant as it had pulled down the support so we planted new ones last year even though the remnants of the old one came back)
Lovely Robin and other garden sights on this last day of April.  The old Clematis Montana is still in bud but the lovely little ‘Blue Eclipse’ is flowering well around the bin store fence. (Another Montana is pushing through the front fence from next door which is fine by me!)
Lovely selection of orange/red tulips of different sizes blooming together and a couple that have pushed up through the fuchsia ‘Hawkshead’ that borders the front garden, probably planted before the fuchsia was there.

It’s clouded up a little now so a more relaxed afternoon ahead and fish and chips ordered for tea. Time to chill.
