The Flying Dutchman

A gradually improving day. We went down town to meet Daughter One off the ferry to have a chat and a coffee before she left by train.

Unfortunately when we got to the station there was a huge queue and an announcement saying that the train was cancelled due to driver illness. Even the station office was closed due to staff shortages, so she couldn't even get her ticket printed out! Mmm. So we had an early lunch at The Fish Box, where you order at street level and go up the stairs to the roof of the box to sit down. Only a temporary structure until the site is developed, but you get a good view of the world passing by!

Over on the pontoon was the beautiful old sailing ship, 'Flying Dutchman'. I hadn't realised that she was a genuine antique, but apparently she was built in 1903 and sails under the flag of the Netherlands.

We then walked back home, Daughter One going down later for the next train. I expect it was very busy!
